Nigel Farage in Redcar…

Farage at Large could work as a series. Nigel Farage tours the country in an Austin Allegro and stops off for a pint and chat with beneficiaries of Brexit. Farmers, fishermen, hedge fund managers etc to reflect on how well it's gone so far.
Outtakes could have him being run out of town or tarred and feathered.

Its good he has come to somewhere that used to make real things, opposed to the commodities trading rooms he was brought up where people gamble all day and an individual can earn a £1m plus a year for doing it which would be enough to keep all the food banks in Redcar operating for a year.

You mean like he did, before cheerfully retiring to cause chaos in the country and negativley impact all those people living in the places that used to make "real things".

Jacob Young has a lot to be grateful to Nigel Farage for by pulling campaigning in Redcar and other constituencies to allow the Conservative candidates a free run at the Pro-Brexit vote in the 2019 election almost certainly gave Young the votes needed to take his seat in Parliament.

In 2015 the Farage lead UKIP candidate received 18.4% of the vote in Redcar, after Farage left UKIP a lot of his Redcar supporters joined the Conservative Party including the current PFCC of Cleveland Police, Steve Turner.

Steve Turner, who promised a reduction in crime and blamed the previous incumbent of his position for policing failures but has overseen reported crimes rise from 7,741 cases in the month before he took over to 9,058 in May 2022 the last month for which figures are available, it's not just that these people have a political ideology that, to me, is outdated, but they're also terrible at the jobs for which they somehow get elected.

They should have gone with Farage a la Plage instead. Nigel on Redcar beach in his Speedos getting steadily more and more drunk and banging on about immigrants with seagulls laughing at him. I'd have probably watched that.
I like that idea - Farage at Large a la Plage. The odious, greasy, lying, racist, little chancer could then swim out to the Gare, to check out the illegals floating in from Denmark.

Recar Workies - Hang your heads.

UKIP stood in the 2017 election and they were a very, very distant 4th,

The Brexit Party candidate for Redcar withdrew 2 days before the election in 2019, and were still on the ballot on the day, their withdrawal won't have been common knowledge to many, even if they had decided to not announce a withdrawal they'd have needed to pick up another 8.7% of the vote from solely Conservative/Lib Dem/Green/Independent voters to prevent Labour losing the seat.

I don't think that will have happened, especially not just from an additional 2 days of campaigning and when they performed so poorly in 2017 at the height of Turley's support for reversing Brexit (admirable from my point of view, but I understand why it enraged so many Brexiteers from here).

I don't think UKIP would help Redcar as a generalisation, but most people did not have a clue what they stood for, beyond leaving the EU.

Redcar Constinuency needs a lot to help low income groups:

More jobs and better quality jobs (to replace SSI and other manufacturing jobs lost in the last 25 years) = Government grants and approvals could help, as it did in the 1950s when Wilton site was developed.
Re rating of council tax and business rates to lower them, as they are high relative to property values
Raising of bottom tax threshold
Allowing local council to build some social housing with affordable rents
More financial support for the local FE College
Ensure people are claiming all the welfare benefits they are entitled to
Move Public sector jobs from prosperous areas in the UK to Redcar area.

UKIP and Brexit Party haven’t helped anyone anywhere apart from providing a few entitled and privileged wastes of skin to earn a grift based living pointing at the poor foreign and telling the indigenous poor its all their fault.

Beyond that they infiltrated and destroyed the one nation Conservative party and are the main contributors to the decline we are all facing now with degraded public standards and an economic crises that’s going to be with us for several years.

The Conservatives have moved leftwards, because in part their voting base is poorer than in the past. Examples adopting Living Wage and increasing it at above wage inflation rates. Giving rebates on energy bills. Running large public borrowing deficits, providing funds to economically struggling regions, funding large infrastructure projects. Now they are facing a bit of rebellion from their more traditional voters who want tax cuts. Its going to be interesting which way they go.
