With the exception of riding to a friend's funeral mine was the first ride in a year. Lockdown and the don't risk being a burden on the NHS cost me my mojo. What a good subject for a weekly thread. It might just provide a little motivation
You're kidding, disgraceful all over the placeI would say those cylinders are worth their weight in gold, but apparently only for cyclists judging by the number you see dropped all over.
Being very naive I once asked a security guard at a festival why they were scattered everywhere when all the bikes I'd seen were in the bike park by the entrance. You're kidding, disgraceful all over the place
Small pumps are OK but I find you struggle to get the pressure. Also if you're out with a group 10 seconds rather than a few minutes is a bonus.I have seen lots of the empty cylinders on my rides, I started to pick them up and put them in the recycling bins at work but there were just too many.
Surely an old fashioned pump still works and cheaper! Or can the empty cylinders be refilled?
Thanks.Sorry to hear that RAB.
During lockdown cycling has been my saviour. A reason to get out and about in all weather and to set new targets for places to go. Now that we're a year on, I know that I haven't got much furlough time left. It's time to stretch the legs and see how far I can go - last summer's record was 100 miles in a day.
Anyone got any C2C tips?
RedasBeetroot, you & me bothBeing very naive I once asked a security guard at a festival why they were scattered everywhere when all the bikes I'd seen were in the bike park by the entrance.
I prefered the Whitehaven - Penrith - Stanope - Tynemouth C2CThanks.
Lots of choices for C2C routes. Fortunately we have a friend who's happy to drive a van as support.
Van plus bikes to Whitehaven and riders on separate minibus early start day 1. Night 1 Penrith. Night 2 Richmond and then finish in Whitby. Assuming it's a social trip over 3 days that you're after.
I'd also recommend Hadrian's Way and Way of the Roses.
