Neymar

Doesnt matter if its a friendly or not, his aim game is to cheat at all costs, once he has that mentality he cant distinguish friendly from real time, he shown it time & time again
Automatic sending off and 3 match ban. It would not see it completely eradicated from the game, however it would go a long way in reducing the cheats. Someone posted along the lines that some would defend him. How do you defend it? Please explain, thanks.

That's really not true though is it, even among the top players. Can you ever see Messi, De Bruyne, Isiah Jones doing that?
Perhaps occasionally all players would go down softly (Issy did dive a few times last season) but certainly not repeatedly and so blatantly as Neymar does.. and definitely not in such a meaningless game.

He will never be viewed as a great because of this side of his game

Messi and De Bruyne less so themselves but they are complicit. I've seen them both happily step up to take penalties that Neymar/Suarez and Sterling etc. have clearly dived to win.

Jones dives all the time. Wish he wouldn't.

They are all the same in that they just accept it is part of the game.

It is very different stepping up to take a penalty than falling over when there is nobody in the same postcode. What are they expected to do, refuse to take it? Miss on purpose?

Yes, exactly that. Tell their teammates they are an embarrassment and to stop cheating.

Maradona used to get the sh*t kicked out of him every game......but I cannot remember him blatantly diving when another player pulled out a tackle and then roll around the floor as though he's snapped his leg. In a meaningless friendly at that.
Neymar is a f*cking disgrace, but should we be surprised - he's done this all his career.

I didn't like Maradona so don't like defending him but he didn't dive very much actually. Other forms of cheating were more up his street.
People might not like it but Maradona had lumps kicked out of him in every game. That match in 86 if some of our players like Terry Fenwick etc concentrated on kicking the ball instead of Maradona we might have won. We cheated just as much as him but his was in a less acceptable way. But Neymar in a friendly, indefensible.

Spot on regarding Maradona. Having watched the documentary about him, many of the tackles on him, quite rightly, would be a straight red card nowadays.

Remember this?

Jones and mcnair put in a few dives for us. Jones is quite poor at it and consequently doesn't get a few when he is fouled. Mcnair is a master. He goes down in situations which would be extremely dangerous for us if the ref didn't give the foul. Basically daring the ref not to give the foul. They always do. When he's tried it in attacking situations he is less successful.

The one time the ref didn’t give McNair a free kick for a dive near our own goal, Luton won a corner and scored from it. Some of McNair’s dives are so blatantly obvious as well. I hope Warnock fined him for that one at Luton.

The YouTube footage of him playing in Italy is scary to watch. Every tackle looks like a legbreaker.
