Next week we say goodbye

Yeah just a guess.

A new face needs a chance to turn things around. After forest hel habe 10 games , that should be enough .

What's the point? If Steve Gibson was going to replace Woodgate he'd have done it in December. My guess is it was on the cards, but we had a great December and that probably saved his job.

However bad the football may be we've only been losing by the odd goal so we're not that far away. My guess is Woodgate has another few games yet.

I am sure Woodgate is here for the foreseeable future so I'm quite happy to sink or swim with him in charge.Relegation isn't going to be the end of the world, the previous two seasons spent in the third tier were quite memorable and started a couple of years of momentum for the club.

Whilst I don’t disagree with some of what you say, I’m pretty confident that we will not be embarking on any years of momentum with Woodgate in charge.

I think the only person who really knows if any changes are to be made is Mr Gibson, but if we do lose at home to Forest Boro are in the worst situation for over 3 decades with a team which has lost the ability to score and always concedes.

Had we stabilised after a short bad run New Year and floated around in mid-table until April, with the kids getting more and more experience, people would have been optimistic going into next season I think.

As things stand, it’s looking as if finishing 21st, on goal difference, is something highly desirable. If this happens, even though we’ve avoided the drop, there’ll be no “feel good factor” about the close season or the new season, and most people will continue to harbour grave concerns about Woodgate’s ability from the first defeat next season.

If the plan was to stabilise and then build something next season with the aim of promotion the year after, the plan has basically gone wrong already, unless we somehow string a great run together between now and April.

But the risk is that we carry on as we are and get relegated, the PL further away than ever.

I think that’s right, we can accept that we are where we are but we really must have some reason to hope that the future will be better.

I do think he'll be sacked if we lose to Forest.

But the fact that Wigan need to get something against West Brom to put us in the bottom 3 might be his stay of execution.
Unless we lose by 2 more goals than they lose by.

No, we are really light years away. One point against the three worst teams in the division is an absolute disgrace. The fact that he is still here is baffling but do I think he will gone any time soon? Nope. He will get the chance to lead us out at Accrington Stanley and Crewe.

Then sink it will be.

I really believe that he will stick with him. I think its too late for a new manager to halt the slide with this lot.

I think:

If we stay up - He will still be here next year - Look forward to another season of toil !!
If we go down - SG will make a Warnock type of appointment with the hope of bouncing straight back up.

Woody is here for the season at least!

Odds on he will go. The Gazette is speculating now and they wouldn't be doing that without a nod and a wink from Gibson. \Plus from what he said the other day it sounds like he has been offered the option of falling on his own sword, no doubt with a decent pay-off.
