Newcastle will allow 29-year-old English centre-back Jamaal Lascelles, Northern Ireland left-back Jamal Lewis, 24, and Scottish wingers Matt Ritchie, 33, and Ryan Fraser, 28, to leave in January. (Football Insider)

All overpaid duffers or an experinced gem or two to cement or play-off push? We've not got 'winger' cover I suppose.......
 
All four of them are on close to 40k/week so it's a no from me.

If money wasn't an issue and he'd half his wage (unlikely), I'd take Jamal Lewis as a replacement for Ryan Giles next season.
 
The wages thing is utter bollix. A new contract will have nowhere near the wage they're on now. Whether they'd improve us is another matter.

Hard to tell, he's not good enough defensively for Wolves, and I don't think they really fancy him as anything other than a way of bringing a few mill in. He's 23 soon and has made the grand total of one League Cup appearance for Wolves. Think he will leave them either on loan again or permanent in the summer

Yeah I agree brilliant going forward and crossing but don't think he would be first choice in prem league due to his defending, maybe as a midfielder though
 
The issue in the game now as demonstrated with these players is any player that has singed a contract for a Prem team is generally out of reach for championship clubs.

None of the players listed are any more than championship level but unless Newcastle heavily subsidise their wages in any loan move they wont be moving until their contracts expire

Wages wages wages....many genuinely think a 'free' or bargain is cheap. It any player comes from the prem it's 20-30k+ minimum.

Just remember Balogun who had one senior goal was on 40k a week. Delap who went to Stoke is on 25k. These are kids who've only played at U23s and the odd league Cup. Classed as 'top young talents'. I'd back Coburn to score more than Delap.

So any remotely first team squad player at the mags is on a fortune.
