Newcastle success good for Boro?

Do you think a massively successfull Newcastle team could benefit us in our ability to sign more top players?
I know we've struggled in previous years (albeit in the prem) to get top players to come to Middlesbrough rather than going to London or the North West - but if it the geordies are signing world class players could it have a positive knock on effect on our ability to bring a better quality of player to the North East.

I'm jumping ahead to us being in the prem like. So, next season 😁

Fair point! Never really thought about it that way, but if the north east becomes the new fashionable hotbed of football it can’t hurt us.

Let’s face it, there’s not many reasons to go live in the north west other than three huge football teams + Everton.

It’s still annoying me how well Eddie Howe’s doing, I was so confident it would all go wrong.

They only situation that I can imagine wanting Newcastle success is if they were playing Sheffield United next week.

We would loose a lot of younger supporters who would join the mag bandwagon, our potential to become bigger even if we were successful would be severely diminished.

That’s a good point. When I was at school (in Durham) and Keegan’s Newcastle team took off, all the glory boy kids who had Liverpool pencil cases and Man Utd lunch boxes, suddenly had Newcastle tops on for PE.
