Newcastle Council, what's going on?

Seems abit sus, one is facing a bullying alllegation another is claiming the cuts to winter fuel and the bus price going up along with clutching abit with uni fees going up a couple of percent.

Seems to me like one is in trouble and his mates are having a tantrum over it. Another doesn’t like the leader that was picked.

They should be forced to call a by election. I don’t agree with getting voted in for a party then changing what you represent and going against what the public voted for.

They should face a by election. It seems that their gripe may be with the new leader of the council but if that were the case they should make a statement about it. As well as bullying allegations, cuts to winter fuel and bus and uni prices, there have been mutterings about lack of investment in the city from the Saudis.

I think you probably know , but if not just google Newcastle labour resignations
Quite. How would someone living in Middlesbrough learn of Labour Councillor resignations in Newcastle without knowing the reasons why. Conversation with the milk man perhaps?

I first saw this on Jamie Driscoll's twitter feed but when I read the BBC, ITV, Northern Echo and Evening Chronicle online there seems to be no single reason. If they are making a protest then they should also make a statement.

Nick has made a statement but they're choosing to keep their powder dry for now I suppose. I assumed they'd joined Jamie Driscoll's growing alliance but it seems not.

Hearing that it's down to Labour North. They've basically been carrying out Stalinist purges against anyone from the left of the party ever since Starmer became leader and now they've been on the backs of these councillors too, who chose to be proactive and walk away.

Well I haven't read that anywhere.
