After listening to the new Cure release heavily the last few days I dug deeper and saw that U2, Tears for Fears, Nick Cave, Jesus and the Mary Chain, OMD have released new material and I am gob smacked.

U2's Happiness is right up there with their earlier stuff. Tears for Fears "Astronaut' and "Say goodbye to Mum and Dad" is really good stuff. Nick Cave song "Wild God" is another memorable song. I have just found Soft Cell new stuff along with the Pixies.

I guess i know what I am doing tonight with a good bottle of red.

Also came across a new band called English Teacher. My faith in music is back. Outstanding stuff.

Top 3 Albums of 2024

2. Bill Ryder-Jones - Iechyd Da
3. English Teacher - This Could Be Texas

Bahaus Staircase (OMD) is the best of their recent stuff imho. Having said that all the stuff since they reformed has been better than the later 80s stuff. I don’t really count when Andy was OMD, solo, but there’s the odd good track there too.
