LAIBACH – “FEDAYEEN (THE AXE IS SHARPENED)”

Slovenian post-punk band Laibach will release a new symphonic work, Alamut, on May 9 and “takes inspiration from Alamut (1938), the telling of a story from eleventh century Persia by Slovenian writer Vladimir Bartol about martyrdom and the Cult of Personalities that went on to inspire the video game series Assassin’s Creed.

 
SOCCER MOMMY – “DRIVER (STRIPPED)”.................one of todays better tracks but its a low bar today.

Soccer Mommy shared an alternate version of “Driver” from her 2024 album Evergreen, with lush acoustic instrumentation.

 
ED KUEPPER (THE SAINTS) & JIM WHITE (DIRTY THREE) – “THE CRYING DANCE”............................this one is for kuepper. Along with Jeffrey Lewis the best song of the day. Cracking.

Two Aussie legends — Ed Kuepper (The Saints, The Laughing Clowns) and Jim White (Dirty Three) — are teaming up for After the Flood, which will be out March 21 via 12XU. The album began when they decided to do a few Australian shows together, with Ed reinterpreting songs from throughout his career with White’s unique drumming style. Here’s their version of Laughing Clowns’ “The Crying Dance”

 
LOST UNDER HEAVEN – “CREATION SONG”

Having recently announced their breakup, Lost Under Heaven (the duo of former WU LYF singer Ellery James Roberts and Ebony Hoorn) have shared a final single, “Creation Song.”

 
BRYAN FERRY & AMELIA BARRATT – “FLORIST”

Bryan Ferry released “Star” last year as part of his Retrospective compilation, which was his first new, original composition in more than a decade. That song was a collaboration with Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross and Amelia Barratt, and now he and Barratt are releasing an album together. It’s titled Loose Talk and will be out March 28 via Dene Jesmond Records.

Amelia says: “Loose Talk is a conversation between two artists: a collaborative album of music by Bryan Ferry with spoken texts by me.

 
Tori Amos - Rain Brings Change


Ahead of the release of her new children’s book next month, Tori Amos has shared a soundtrack to the book. The nine-track The Music of Tori and the Muses features her regular collaborators Mark Hawley, Jon Evans, Matt Chamberlain, Ash Soan and John Philip Shenale.
