New loft hatch

Hi
my daughter has finally managed to buy a house, which is a fixer upper. At the moment there is no loft hatch except in an extension part of the house. Does anyone have any idea how much a new loft hatch would cost or if we would need one as we are already over budget.
cheers

If you're fitting it yourself and it's just an aluminium frame with a hinged door, you'll have change from £100.

If it's a hinged door and a ladder about £300

Possibly less.

You can get them for about £150 in B&Q, Screwfix etc. Actually, I was in Discount DIY the other week (near Newport Bridge) and they had them for a bit less. Probably looking at about the same again to fit though, unless you can do it yourself.

That's a good shout, but remember they are owned by the same people who own Screwfix. If B&Q do something, Screwfix often do the exact same thing, only cheaper.

I sell access hatches for commercial applications, £44.00 is a great price for a domestic one.

My son's loft hatch was in his bathroom and we've moved it putting a loft hatch and ladder onto the ladding. There is nothing at all to it and very little mess. We had it all done in an afternoon.

Something else I learned to do by watching YouTube.
