New kit

Our best away shirt of the sponsorship era! 😍
With what is, by far, our worst ever home shirt. Great advert for errea and Cellnet, but whoever designed and approved a kit without a club badge on the chest was stoned!
Allegedly!
But plausibly!
We used to have our badge on the sleeve (both sleeves actually) in 1983-84, the McLean Homes kits. Also, a lot of Italian clubs did it in the mid-late 90‘s. I liked it, it was quirky and a bit different.

Why on earth anybody would want a hideous revamp of that multi green nonsense is beyond me.
The only Green that should ever be worn by Middlesbrough is by the goalkeeper.

It has nothing to do with us, looks awful, can't be seen against the pitch and is a problem for the colour blind.
Those Errea designs should stay very much in the past.
Not until the 2004-06 era did they get things right.

Errea designs were and still are largely rubbish. If they’ve redisgned either of those two kits then it’s going to be another disappointing release.

3 out of the 4 hummel "designs" were just remakes of old kits and everyone seemed to love them. It was only the 18/19 kit that I thought was any good.

I think it’s a rip off bringing out new kit every year, they never used to. They play the same whatever the team wear.

We never used to pay individual players a year's wage in a week either.
Changing the kit is a valuable source of income each season.

The club probably makes a million on kit sales every year, and that helps with the running of the club. The latest accounts had £1.7m made from merchandising, but that's obviously not just kits.

It's changed every season for 50 years now.

I agree although I'd like to see the kids kits a lot cheaper mind, particularly in the current climate.

If an adult wants to blow £50 on a new shirt every year that's up to them. I'm sure adults can do without if they genuinely can't afford it.

For kids though it's harsh if all your mates have the new kit and you don't. You're basically saying kids from poorer families can't have one or you're pushing their parents into spending on one when they probably need the money for more important things.

Longer term kids are your supporters (or to be cynical customers) of the future. Up to a certain age what kit you have as a kid can have a fair bit of influence on who you support.

Would be great if the kids shirts were affordable for pretty much all families and you saw them absolutely everywhere you went on teesside.

It's funny but I always seem to remember most of the Errea shirts being slagged off something rotten at the time, especially that green striped away one. It's only over the last few years that people seem to be going on about how great they were.

We always look back and remember things better than they where.

That green away one is high on my list as i was 6/7 years old and really into my football and we got promoted so it always stands out.
