New Houchen-related thinktank

Britain Remade - They've managed to spell Teesworks 'Teeseworks' and 'Teeswork' on one page. Toffs in short trousers pushing Houchen/Truss style schemes (in preposterous accents).

Claim they're not affiliated to any political party but 2 of the 4 named individuals were SPADs for Conservative MP's, one worked for the Adam Smith institute and the other was a Parliamentary Assistant to former Tory MP Anna Soubry.

I'm sure they're as independent as a independent thing from independentland.

The comms guy was formerly Houchen's spad and Truss's media spokesman. Funding from Quadrature Climate Foundation, in turn funded by Quadrature Capital, a fossil fuel investing fund

As soon as "Think-tank" is mentioned, immediately two things spring to mind -

1. Tufton Street - dodgy as f*ck
2. If it's not Tufton Street - dodgy as f*ck

Somewhere along the line some serious nefarious sh*t will be carried out.

"If we cannot turn it around, we’re set to be overtaken by Poland within a decade."

Surely in the far right's eyes this is a good thing, it'll stop Polish people from coming over here?

Looks pretty benign? A campaign to boost onshore wind and solar and another to invest in public transport schemes.

The headline objectives seem OK, but there is an underlying drive to achieve this by weakening regulation, the planning system, and political oversight. I don't disagree about a need for reform, but I'm suspicious about having the system redesigned by Houchen/Truss acolytes.

Well if the planning system prevents the installation of wind turbines then it will obviously have to be "weakened"

We have the most restrictive planning laws and land use regs in the developed world BTW.

Are these all brexiteers, worried that we will be weaker than Poland?

Who else is going to build the stuff that needs to be built? Even if it was the state was attempting building these things you would still have to weaken the planning system.
They certainly don't need to be making decisions as to our planning laws. We've seen the nonsense and billions wasted by business cowboys during the COVID crisis, are you sure they're not telling their usual lies?

There are plenty of both onshore and offshore turbines already installed. Were they done illegally?

Anyone who thinks these RWNJs give a stuff about the environment must be on drugs.

They say one thing then do the opposite. They are just an extension of the oil companies.

Given the opportunity they will walk back every green initiative they are they are promoting and say we can't do it for 50 years so in the mean time let's drill more oil.

Are you for real? You do realise onshore turbines are effectively banned in England due to additional changes to the planning system.

That's the cowboy Tories for you. Time you stopped voting for them.
Ive no idea what you are talking about now, I suspect you don't either. You magically want more wind turbines but don't want to remove the rules that prevent this from happening.

You've obviously tied yourself up in knots here which I why you've decided to go for some attack based your incorrect idea that everyone you disagree with is a tory.
