New Gold Dream

Mate of mine was in a band who were on the fringes of success in the late 80s but never made it. Says Jim Kerr was a lovely fella, went out of his way to help them, gave them free studio time etc. Mate met a few odious pop stars but reckons he's a proper star.

Superb. One of very few examples of music I've got on vinyl, cassette and CD. The 'Dreamtime' version of The hunter and the hunted on youtube is out of this world.

I did a few 1 day festivals in UK and Europe in the early 80’s.
They were on every bill
Usually with the likes of Big Country, U2, Eurythmics, Steel Pulse, Peter Gabriel and others
They were good days (i think)

I remember going to see them at Milton Keynes Bowl during the 1986 World Cup. My memory isn't great but I think they were supported by The Bangles, The Waterboys and The Cult?

I knew somebody whoi had a t-shirt from this gig (he never went) it had Simple Minds, The Waterboys, Lloyd Cole, Big Audio Dynamite and Dr + The Medics on it.

I think they were there a few nights and other bands including The Cult were on the different nights?

Yeah just googled it. They played MK Bowl two nights running. I was there on the Saturday night on a coach trip from Middlesbrough bus station!

I might be able to trump that line up from one of the festivals I went to

Would have loved to have seen Joe Jackson. I know he was still touring up until a couple of years ago.

I was at that concert (y)

Live in the City of Light is a magnificent album

A stupendous album.

As an aside, how come R6 were playing it in full? Just because of its stupendousness?
