Never a red card that

End of the road for ETH?
He's doing a grand job.

Watched the red card replay after reading the different opinions and he slips but he still extends his leg and contacts the Spurs player with his studs. Yes the contact is pretty minor but the exposed studs and the fact that he extends his leg look damning to me. I'd be very surprised if that gets overturned but that said it IS ManUtd so it probably will be.

I reckon ETH may be gone tonight or by end of the week at latest. His interview will be telling.
If any player deserves a perceived petulance red card then it’s fernandes, he defo went for the foul in my opinion. Red card.

Not a red for me either. Poor decisions ruin games.

In situations like this, would like the ref to be able to blow his whistle for a foul (and then if he wanted to) - jog over to the camera and watch it again, before making a decision. Personally think he’d have the given a yellow and makes for a better game for the neutral.

Never ruined the game here. United were equally awful before and after the decision.

Haven't got any sympathy for Manure since the disgraceful behaviour after we were awarded a pen in 2000 and because of all the kerfuffle Juninho missed it and we went on to lose 1-0.

Yes they were, however it was 1-0 when he got sent off, as much as Spurs were significantly better than Man U, if Man U had got a goal then it would have been game on, which of course would have been better for the neutral.

We’ve all seen teams dominate for large periods but then the other team gets a lucky goal from a mistake etc.

That aside, how funny is this.

Southgate in

Be ironic if it is Southgate, after Ten Haag absolutely slaughtered Southgate on TV during the Euros. About 2 weeks after very publicly calling out Shearer and co for their criticism of him.🙄

I’d say it was a red. There was no need to put his right leg where he did, slip or no slip.
Knee high studs showing, the intent was there but as per usual with BF it’s p@!s poor application.

He’d be one of the first out the door if I was in charge. Never captain material. Loses his head as soon as they are up against it.

Can't believe people think it's a red card - slipped and stuck his leg out and caught him slightly high with the outside of his foot. Never ever a red.

This is what I think.

It should not be a separate VAR person. Like rugby, the ref should be able to pause time and say "I'd like to look at that to see if it meets criteria for a red"
