Netflix - Mark Cavendish

Yeah watched it last night, and although I knew about the Epstein-Barr I dont think I realised just how mentally ill he was at the same time.

Really honest documentary.

Just saw this last night. My Mrs hates it when I watch cycling, but we both really enjoyed this. For anyone who has not seen it, then it's well worth watching whether you are interested in cycling or not. It delves into the phycology and the recovery from injury, redemption after being written off by pretty much everyone etc. It's a fascinating watch.

The complexity of humanity. No judgement on ars hole or hero.

Apart from supporting Leeds

I think "support" is stretching it a bit. In all the years I've followed his career, other than that picture of him in a Leeds shirt, I've never really seen / heard any other interest in them. His mam is from Harrogate and so I imagine it stems from that.

I'm watching it now. Some amazing footage you never see from a race. The crashes they have to go through are out of this world.

It takes some dedication to win like he has. I hope he unretires for next year.

Yeah, I'm halfway through it - loving it. He's come a long way from being a knob in his early days. Family life has had a massive impact.
His determination is insane

I'm in floods of tears watching it.. I don't feel he was a knob, just driven. I was the same in my job, driven to be the best and the best for my team.

I was being flippant. For such a private person who clearly had issues with the press I think it's brilliant that he's done this.

The Tour was nowhere near my radar until I happened to watch the 2014 grand depart, only because it was in Yorkshire, and then found that I couldn't put it down. It now rivals footie as my favourite sporting watch.

The Cav documentary is brilliantly insightful and moving, a window into the psyche of what makes a serial winner in the most brutal of sports. Even through the TV screen his drive and intensity is palpable.

Huge respect too for Cav's wife Peta, for remaining so stoically supportive throughout everything that he has put her through.

Netflix are making some great sporting doc's, and this one is right up there.

A close mate of mine has been involved with the filming of the Le Tour - Unchained documentaries on Netflix over the past couple of years and says of all the riders, he is the one who always has time for you, remembers stuff from previous conversations and is just a really thoughtful person. Thanks for the recommendation, I shall watch that tonight.
