Neil Warnock

I'll admit, I was calling for the club to appoint Warnock or Allardyce last season when we were struggling under Wilder. At that stage I was thinking "Screw the model, I just want somebody to come in who we will keep us in the division".

Gibson held his nerve and appointed Carrick, and it very nearly paid off with a promotion.

I'd still like for Carrick to be given a bit more time here, but if he does end up leaving I'd prefer for us to appoint a manager who is going to be on board with the model. It's depressing that we've become a club which regularly changes the manager, but at the same time it's the way it's gone in football.

I'd prefer it if we threw the model in the bin. If there is one thing we do not do well at Middlesbrough it is projects.

Buying top class young technical footballers for **** all and selling them for millions is a plan in the same way getting married to a supermodel and becoming a billionaire is a plan.

It won't happen, but no thanks from me.

Sacking Carrick and then bringing in a 74 year old that we'd sacked 2 years ago to replace him would be a total capitulation from the club.

I liked Warnock when he was here, and I've got no bad feelings towards him, but bringing him back would be mental.
