Neil Warnock Relishing Riverside Return....

I don't think it's over the top.
Look at the side he was forced to select on his last game with us, decimated by injuries team filled with frees, loans and kids.

That is an awful team to be fair.

Do you think we could organize a standing ovation guys ? Maybe Red Faction could do a display for him "Thanks Neil" would look good as part of a banner display...
Any other ideas ?

We should have chuggers outside of the stadium collecting to pay off Kevin Blackwell's kitchen too. FFS.

Since that was at the end of his reign then it shows how badly he managed the squad rebuild.

A better thing to look at in the context of him saving us is the squad he had when he beat Sheff Wed to save us from relegation :

D Stojanovic
A Dijksteel
G Friend
D Fry
P McNair
D Spence
M Tavernier
M Johnson
G Saville
B Assombalonga
A Fletcher
A Pears
P Roberts
N Wood
L Wing
H Coulson
L Nmecha

So, yes, of course he should have done enough to make sure we didn't get relegated, because that squad is way, way too talented to get relegated. It's no biggie for me that he kept us up, the fact he lost every home match with that team was for me concerning. The fact he evolved that team into the one newy posted within a year is shocking.

If the squad was so good then why did Woodgate have it hurtling towards league one?
He may have lost 4 matches of his 8, but he won the other 4. 12 points from 8 matches most certainly saved us that season.
I would think he will sleep just fine with it not being a "biggie" for you.
And he will get a very warm reception when he returns to The Riverside - something you won't ever get.

I was just commenting on the last line up. Pretty poor set of players. I've got no real strong feelings towards Warnock. He did OK for us. Steadied the ship but ran out of ideas quickly and struggled to change things when he needed to. Similar to the other veteran managers we had. Don't think he liked the management structure at the club and it wasn't right for him

Squad rebuild ??
He wasn't given any money for a 'squad rebuild' in fact the opposite, his main central midfielder Morsy was sold from under his feet.....

I’m sure his loan players played for buttons. He was also given 2 1/2m and massive wages to sign the current EFL player of the year but didn’t play him properly then dropped him
