Neil Warnock: I went to hospital this morning Rob. I have been having blood tests for these blood clots I have had. And the James Cook they were all buzzing this morning, the fans. I must have had about six of them come up to me. One pushing a trolley.
“Bloody hell, Neil, that was good the other night.”
I could tell the spirits are high at the minute.

Fly: Absolutely. It was a great night under the lights v Sheffield Utd can we take that momentum on into the weekend at Hull? Is that what you are hoping?
NW:
I am yes. It won't be the same type of game because Sheff Utd play a very good passing game, are you with me. So it is a different type of game. But we will have to have the same commitment. We had to show a lot of commitment to keep them to very few opportunities. It will be a different type of commitment but we have got to show it. In the Championship you have got to show all sorts and that is what we have got to show in the next few weeks.

Fly: We have sold out the away end at Hull. Although it is not that close, it will almost be a derby atmosphere as far as the Middlesbrough fans are concerned...
NW:
Yeah. They turn out in force, don't they? I have no end of people telling me, we are going to Hull at the weekend and we are going with mates and some are going the night before.

It's good to have them back and I would like to give them something to cheer about. It won't be for the lack of trying.

Sounds very promising but a bit random that he was interviewed by a fly, and that the Fly is named Rob.

Has he only just been employed by the Gazette?

I always put Fly or Fmttm in my questions so you can tell it is my question and not someone else asking. I could put Rob I suppose but old habits after all these years...

Fly: In your first match at Hull we fell to the last minute sucker punch. Hopefully having all those supporters behind the goal will stop that being repeated.

NW:
Well, it would be nice. Poor old George Friend. I can see the goal now and I am thinking what a bad goal it was. But George didn't do much wrong for me he just fell asleep for the goal really.

But it just shows you they only want one opportunity, if we can't take our chances and they take that chance they'll beat us again. So, we are going to have to be right on our toes and hope that the 3500 really lift us. I am sure it will because they are in a good position there, aren't they? Some of my best results there came when we had good followings and they do make a difference.

this Hull legend was a goal machine 415 apps and 193 goals... peaked in the latish 60s.... left Hull in 1971 and had a back injury at Coventry that finished him..... he died this year aged 77 from dementia ....
