Neil prefers a 4 3 3 formation

If he does stay, I believe he will we will need more than 6 players to be able to do this. Fingers crossed we get him some funds to bring in some quality and also make us stronger defensively. It’s going to be an interesting few weeks

He said 6 or 7 which is pretty straight forward given that's around the number of players that are leaving:

RB - Shotton - the rarest pof beasts a boro right back
CB - Ayala - replacing the best centre back in the championship
LB - Friend - replacing the best left back in the championship
RW - Roberts - if we can't get him back
MF - Clayton - replacing the best defensive midfielder in the championship
LW - Johnson - or Morrison depending on if Johnson signs a new deal
ST - Gestede - replacing the fence where the daft chunts shots kept hitting

My Guess at Warnock's Picks:

RB Chris Gunter -Reading - Free
CB Grant Hall -QPR - Free
LB Morgan Fox - Sheff Wed - Free
RW Duncan Watmore -Sunderland - Free
MF Kevin Stewart - Wigan - Free
LW Sammy Ameobi - Forest - Free
ST Kieffer Moore - Wigan - £2m

tough job, defo not as easy as just putting names down on a message board. take a look at the players we are actually replacing, the best in their positions, the players that got us promoted and the ones who competed in the premier league.

it's an absolutely mammoth task.. outrageous. easy the toughest transfer window we've had since Mowbray's tenure.. maybe even tougher!

Why would Ameobi be free he has a year left on his contract? Hope our signings are better than that list of players

The best? Maybe a 5 seasons ago they were the best in those positions, but not for a few seasons now.

He has always had wingers or a No10 type. He likes players who can express themselves further up the pitch.

I think a big CF is definitely going to happen and we need to replace Rudy (not hard). Also a very large percentage of goals at Cardiff came from setplays (21 goals in promotion season). So a couple big CBs.

It's a massive rebuild. We have effectively lost 6-8 players (with loans) and little or no money coming in. The one upside is that the wage bill has arguably been halfed in the last year.

I still expect one or maybe 2 outgoings. The likes of britt due to wages and entering final year. Also Fry / Tav / Spence etc will all have a price.

The list of fees above is very much in my expected 'price' bracket. I don't see us spending much money. I guess 4-6 Mil at best. That doesn't get you far.

The use of the loan market is going to be massive. We have been woeful over the recent years.

Why on earth would we waste a wage on another right back in Gunter, we've got spence and Djiksteel, i think that's enough
