Hosting a party in the summer… wanting to have a couple of small kegs 5litre?? Maybes


Have had them from the stables micro brewery near Beamish hall before but they seem to be closed now.

Anyone got any suggestions?

I'd recommend going and sampling some of their beers before shelling out for a whole keg. I know it's down to people's tastes but weird and unpleasant are what springs to my mind when I've tasted their beers.

Which ones have you tried out of interest?
They do quite a few sour beers, which are not my cup of tea, but their pale ales and ipa are very nice.

I'm old fashioned in my beer tastes with Theakstons Old Peculiar being my favourite. I can't stand sours either but I also don't like the current trend of pale ales and IPAs. I find them excessively hoppy and they just taste like someone has poured a pint and then dunked a bunch of flowers in. The couple of times I've been into Play I've tried a couple and then finished up ordering a pint of cider.
