Nathan Phillips (Liverpool)

It would be worth taking him on loan this year!! Looks like Konate is going to be the partner for Van Dijk so I doubt he'll get much of a look in. Jimmy Phillips son...so probably has a connection to us already. What do you reckon??

I'd definitely take him, but I wouldn't be surprised if Liverpool cash in on him. He's never going to make it as a Liverpool regular. He's 24 now and needs to be playing regularly. It's the Liverpool way, starve young players of game time then sell them at twice market value just because they came through at Liverpool

I don't think he'll be good enough for Liverpool and at 24 years old he needs to move if he has ambitions of playing at a high level.

I don't think he'll drop a division as there'll be plenty of PL clubs who would snap him up.

I think there's a good solid PL defender in him. I just don't think he'll cut it at the very top.

If Eric Dier can have a long career in the PL, then there is simply no reason why Nat Phillips can't!

He's been decent this season, especially without an experienced player alongside him. Could see him staying at Liverpool if he's happy to be a back up, or could see him somewhere like Leeds or Villa.

I think he'll end up in Scotland, but I'd be looking at taking Ben Davies off Liverpool. Also probably out of our reach as too.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Carragher was using his platform to increase his market value. Saying things like he'd head a bus out of the box. Get's Liverpool an extra few quid in a transfer fee. He's very average for Liverpool's standard but perhaps a little too good for us. I'd imagine the likes of Norwich, Watford and (Brentford/Swansea would be interested.

There's probably some ive totally forgot about, but how many players have we had on load from Liverpool? Michael Thomas is the only one that springs to mind

Exactly. We are definitely not high up on their list of clubs to loan their young talent out to, we've never really had a good relationship with Liverpool in that regard.

Talking of loans there were a few very good players in the Villa team that won the youth Cup.The right back and captain Kessler was outstanding and looked like he could step straight into any championship team.

Phillips is decent but I feel out of our reach.
Ben Davies from LFC and Keenan Davis from Villa would suit us IMO
