Yeah would be harder if we couldn’t clearly see the Crystal Palace players…..Selhurst Park
QPR is even worse
Also Wolves, Leeds, Norwich, Everton, Villa. One of the few grounds that house away supporters by the side of the pitch rather than behind the goal.
Haven't been to any of those other than wolves nigh on 20 years ago. All the London clubs put you behind the goal. Only ones who don't are palace. And possibly Chelsea. They used to put you right near the dug outs. Couldn't see a thing of the game but it was fun shouting sit down at mourinho. Also Wolves, Leeds, Norwich, Everton, Villa.
Plenty more wedged in the corner.
Not that many directly behind the goal.
When we took 12k to Birmingham in the FA cup in the 70's we had only half of the big side terrace! Their kop was on the other side of the divide. There used to be quite a few, Man City, Birmingham City, Burnley, Hull, all with covered standing terraces down the side, the Man City and Brum stands were big too.
Keep right on to the end of the road....very impressive that dayWhen we took 12k to Birmingham in the FA cup in the 70's we had only half of the big side terrace! Their kop was on the other side of the divide.
48k crowd.Keep right on to the end of the road....very impressive that day
Saw us lose 0-2 to Wimbledon there. Night match. Got lost on the way back, driving down Streatham High St at 11pm at night. Thank the Lord for satnav these days.My first ever visit to Selhurst Park was for a Div.1 game against Charlton in 1989. We were stood pretty much where the 'Holmesdale Fanatics'sitstand now. I recall looking over towards the Arthur Wait stand thinking how shallow the rake of seats were, particularly further to the back. This pic more than confirms my suspicions.
Wasn’t really meant to be a hard quiz - just a way to highlight some of our more shocking spectator facilities in the best league in the world. Palace are getting millions from their continued survival in the PL but do fook all about the comfort of fans.Yes bit of a giveaway that
Are you talking about old Wembley? Yes it wasn't great but it certainly hasn't got that overhang feel nowadays has it?I had a similar view, although now quite as bad, from the back of the away stand at Everton last time I watched Boro there
An overhang is awful in any stadium, you get it a bit at Wembley at the back of the lower tier, it makes it feel really detached from the rest of the stadium
