My latest project - finished

As a fellow woodworker, I salute you. Lovely work!
Do you do it as an hobby or for a living?

Wood turning is what I like to do but I have been making items for the house.

With these two items, I had seen someone make the coffee table on YouTube, showed the wife and it was what she wanted for the room which had been my son’s den. The corner of the room looked bare and I suggested a lamp stand.

The hardest part was matching the colour of the TV stand and music centre already in the room which are made out of oak.

Love the coffee table Norman, the other one is nice but a bit squarer if you know what I mean.
Talking about the Festoon Domino, it's now been showing up a lot in my YouTube feed after I searched it. Anyway, one of the videos was on a channel called Stumpy Nubs where the fella made his own out of ply.
It's a channel worth checking out just for some of the jigs and tools he makes.

I follow Stumpy Nubs on YouTube and watch some of his videos. I think it was an Asian guy who first made that jig and it's been copied and tweaked by others.

I treat myself to the Domino Cutter after getting a very large tax rebate and it's been a game changer when it comes to making joints. It is very easy to use but you need to have it linked up to a vacuum to remove the dust/chips or it will clog up.

I understand what you mean about the lamp stand being square and I looked at how I could taper the legs similar to tie in with the coffee table but I thought the height and the taper didn't look right. It was easier going down the line of 'square' to match the TV stand and music unit that the wife had previously bought from Barker and Stonehouse. At some point I think these will go back into the other room and I will build something to match - watch this space.

Have a look at the link below of FourEyes (Chris and Shaun) and tell me what you think of their furniture. I got the plans for the coffee table from them and I like the style of some of their other furniture but it's about keeping the wife happy though. They make a bed and night stands that I like.
