What was Carrick's issue with him last season, doing very well at Fulham now, granted we had Archer but at times could have changed formation
I think we just had players who were playing very well at the time so whenever he played he seemed superfluous and it must have affected his confidence. It’s typical that now we can’t buy a goal he’s on fire for Fulham, but I don’t think there’s anything we would have done differently. We had Akpom who scored 29, and Archer who was scoring at the same rate for the second half of the season, so they picked themselves basically, they were the best two in those two positions we could ever have hoped for. What was Carrick's issue with him last season, doing very well at Fulham now, granted we had Archer but at times could have changed formation
Mowatt was seen as better for the squad than Muniz, Boro got into the play offs without Muniz, when Muniz was able to be the 5th loanee he was given 10 minutes as subI posted about this elsewhere. As said above we could only have 5 loan plyers in squad but for me one of those was Mowatt who was hardly essential on the bench. Only started 11 games mostly at end of season when we had injury issues.
Muniz finally getting game time at Fulham
With Raul Jimenez being injured Muniz has started the last 5 games. So far he has scored 4 goals. Really pleased for him as I was desperate for us to sign him(the season before we loaned him) when he went to Fulham. Never got game time here but I sure if he had he would have scored goals. He wasn't good enough to force his way into the squad in the eyes of a manager who took us from just above the relegation zone to the play offs
I think Carrick did ok with his squad selection
But last season - when Muniz was here - he picked a team that got to the play offs from just outside the relegation zoneHe also started Silvera ahead of McGree at the start of the season, and continues to pick Glover over Dieng.
I don't disagree he didn't rip up trees when here and people saying not a Carrick player etc when we play Coburn up top. Funny one glad he's doing well not many strikers get a second chance in the premhe wasn't very good when he played here, and now he's starting for Fulham and maybe the penny has dropped, there sees to be a mysterious
re-writing of both history and reality about his performances for the club when he was here
