MRUFC 150th Anniversary video

Brilliant! Thanks for sharing that... It was quite an emotional watch for me as I used to play junior rugby for them and was named u13's Player of the Year once upon a time (despite much better players around me!) - I knew the family of one of the youngsters filmed well too (y)
 
They used to have quite a team, the only local club that was mentioned during the strange Rugby Union results when I was a youngster. No divisions, no tables, just an enormous list of results and never a match summary.
 
Takes me back to school days. Alan Old, Mike Wright, Bernie Coyne.

The club did well to survive the professionalisation of rugby with the emergence of 'big clubs' attracting the best young players.

Bernie Coyne mentions Tom Jones, a guy who my dad worked with at Chemoxy and thought the world of. I showed my dad the video earlier and you could see him light up as it took back to fond memories and reminisced about the time he spent with him.

For that alone, this thread is priceless to see the spark of recognition in his eye.

Thanks again, he will talk for weeks about this to everyone who visits him.
 
My dad played for the first team during the 70s and 80s.
He made it back for the 150 celebration weekend in Nov last year and will love watching this.
