Was anyone else there - first outdoor gig i ever went to. Even though it was outside i just remember it being unbelievably loud 😬

The PA system at Port Vale was 100,000 watts strong. The oversized stage took three weeks to construct and according to roadie Ian 'Eagle' Dobbie the PA blew the local substation.
Lemmy said a bloke rang up from 5 miles away to complain he couldn't hear his telly. 🤣🤣

There was a reminiscence peice on this very gig last week in Classic Rock

Didn’t go myself

From that article (what a genius way to resolve the issue!):

"A group of irate elderly locals took out an injunction, attempting to get the Holocaust banned on noise pollution grounds. Curd (the promoter) had a magnificent idea, offering them all a free day trip to Blackpool should all objections be rescinded. Amazingly, it worked. "
