Mosquito repellent

Only DEET is effective. All other can be classified under ‘old wives tales’

This has made me think of Michael Palin wondering how to use a tin of mosquito repellent when one was swarming around him - and he hit the mosquito with the tin!

Alas this is true. It is utterly disgusting stuff and stinks like a Teesside chemical works of yesteryear. And don't even think of handling plastics if it's on your hands. Used a screwdriver after applying the stuff and could feel the handle 'melting' in my hands. Comes in a variety of concentrations.

Have found Smidge pretty good for midgies, can't comment on effectiveness for mozzies.

I'm not sure about 'repellent'. Yet top advice is don't wear flip flops on a night out in florida.

I learned the hard way when in the forces. My feet were eaten alive. I couldn't wear socks for a week 😂

Used Avon's skin so soft in many countries and it's always worked for me. DEET is quite harmful to skin in high dosages.

There used to be a Johnson's baby moisturiser that people said was brilliant, but I think it's only available in the USA now, I'm sure it had a green label on it.

I’ve recommended the Avon Skin So Soft product on here on numerous occasions and are presently sat here in France covered in bites.

It was 28 degrees right through Thursday night and have guess who forgot to use it whilst sat outside with his shirt off. 😳 🦟 🦟 🦟

Make your own.
In a spray bottle fill to a third with white vinegar, top up with water then add a few drops of essential oil such as eucalyptus, peppermint, or lavender.
Never fails

The only one that has ever worked for me is Mossie Milk.(I buy it on Amazon) Not cheap but it has made hot holidays bearable for me.

Avon skin so soft. Worked for me when working in Africa. It smells nice too, unlike Deet products that stink
