Morgan O dear

No need to be bitter. He looked quality and I couldn't be happier for the lad. Proud that such a talented boy was able to play a part in the history of this football club.
I’m not bitter, he couldn’t get in our team when everyone was fit 🤷‍♂️
Just thought it unusual to bring the lad off after bringing him on

I only started watching it about 10mins before he was subbed. Sky said he was 'unfortunate' and did alright.

He was never signed to be a first team regular this season. He's a 'project'. He may even go out on a champo season loan next summer.

He has enough about him to be a great signing for Villa. It may take 2-3 years and a couple of loans. He's only 20. He's younger than Coburn.

I will look forward to the cheque book waving clamour for the rest of our first 11 at the end of the season. Team must be worth over £200m easy.

What are you talking about? He played virtually every game in the two months before leaving and was our best player in that period. Certainly our most productive in terms of goals and assists.
Mind we've done great since he left.

He's 22 in the summer. The same as Hackney.
Coburn has just turned 21. He's a football year age group down from Rogers and Hackney.

Rogers is coming out of his development years now. Next season is his last as an U23. Like Hackney

Coburn is no more than an average championship lump tho

Its very rare to sub a sub, when they are not injured. The Villa manager must have been concerned.

I don't think he is ready yet for the Premier League, but obviously has the potential and that is what Villa bought.

Rogers often only started for Boro, because LL was injured or Coburn was injured. I agree he was improving as the season progressed particularly with assists for others.

He got 5 in the player ratings.

Villa fans seem to have a different opinion, and he got a 6.5 on Villa Talk which was inline with most of the squad... (same rating at Bailey, Tielemans - higher than Moreno - most got 7s).

"Morgan Rogers, 6.5 – Showed some really positive signs with his attacking play after coming on, as he looks a good fit for the way Emery wants us to play. Will need to improve his defensive work though as that was arguably the main factor in the decision to replace him in the latter stages."

Fans on the Villa Talk forum seem to agree too...

" I thought Morgan Rogers looked very good as well"
"also there keeper made a worldie to stop Rogers from scoring, such a strange post. Rogers wasn't at fault for giving away a 2-0 lead"
"I think Rogers were quite decent when he came on. I think he will come good for us. Promising start."

very few minor negatives...
"Rogers gave them an in, they just targeted our weakness. Rogers looked great going forward, he will come along nicely, but he showed he isnt up to speed just yet"
