Modern day inconveniences

My robot lawnmower. It works fine but the boundary wire keeps failing, so he doesn't mow.
Wires/cables. I hate them, one reason I bought a robot lawnmower, see above. Plus wires for my technology stuff, takes forever to find a way to hide them all.

Not massive problems, but things that just make everything that bit harder. My top 3:-

1) Mine is apps on your phone that force you to download the latest version because they've randomly decided to retire the version you have installed, usually when you're in a rush and stood at a checkout or trying to make a payment to someone (I'm looking at you Waitrose & Santander chiefly).

2) Apps that force you to have the most complicated password options possible, normally for apps & websites that have the most benign data held within them - Yes I'm sure a master hacker is trying to get into my wine rating application and steal all the ratings of my favourite Albarinos, real valuable information that !

3) Thirdly largely supermarket till related, but age verification for ridiculous things (0% beers usually, but yesterday I was challenged for Christmas crackers "because of the gunpowder" apparently).
Point 2, in my work I have access to the full medical records of around 19 million people, but the HR app I use to book leave involves more hoops to authenticate than anything else.

My youview pvr freeview box which a ) has no previous channel or back button, sorry it does have a back button but the designers didn't think you would want to go back to previous channel like people have been doing so for decades so didn't implement it. and b) it freezes ie the remote no longer controls anything but the pic and sound are continued, usually happens after going mute for about 20 mins then I want to unmute. Not so bad on the face of it , but its only solved by a complete power down and reset. Ok you say, yeah but that takes 3min 50s until you get a picture again

What I hate is when you try to open a sealed product (open here) and the tab snaps or it just doesn't open or on a four-pint of milk when the sealed pull-off tab sticks to the top of the lid and you have to get a knife to open it.

What is all that about? ;)

Enshittification. New company brings something good out then progressively (and deliberately) makes it worse.
Having worked for an American company for 30 years I can honestly say that this standard practice. Make something good and then spend thousands engineering the quality out of it so it's a lot cheaper to make.................

Cadbury chocolate is a prime example.

When I was younger the music in the pub could never be loud enough. Now I am nearly 70 all I want is a good conversation and watch the footy on the TV. The music is deafening.
