I remember Coppers were preventing Kent Miners from travelling north and the same for the Yorkshire miners travelling south to support fellow miners.
I think the lads found ways round it, but it was a police state tactic
I had three friends travelling from Bridgnorth to The NYMR to act as volunteers on the locos for a week, they were stopped at the A38/M1 junction by the police and accused of being flying pickets and turned back, Thatcher created a police state, when I saw her again on the documentary it made me realise how much I despised the evil witch ! Most of our problems in this country can be directly attributed to her greed is good policies, god I hate the woman.
