Millionaire Boris Johnson: ' We can't spend our way out of trouble'

This big fat horrible Tory sack of sh*t should be in prison for what he did to the elderly and the vulnerable at the start of the pandemic, for the corporate theft and dodgy contracts and constant law-breaking during lockdowns.

I absolutely detest him and everything he stands for. He’s a despicable, lying, sleazy, offensive, racist, homophobic, xenophobic, lazy, selfish waste of oxygen.

Jesus!!!! Never seen that before, truly disgraceful.
Closer to home this is the Darlington Tory Deputy Leader celebrating the local food bank and tragetting "A million meals" Now that would be an achievement. Beggars belief.

BTW his dad was a shop steward and worked in an utter sweat shop.

Slightly off topic, I was watching Gove on sky news this morning and the old trope about reducing VAT on fuel to 0% was brought up, as it has been multiple times. Ignoring that the government said they would remove VAT on fuel once we left the EU and we couldn't do that whilst in the EU. This is at best disingenuous and at worst an outright lie. The EU regulations on fuel VAT was you could not reduce it below the VAT rate when you joined the EU. Our VAT on fuel was 0% when we joined the EU so we were free to reduce it to 0% whilst in the EU. I may be wrong about this, but I don't think so. Why do journalists not point this out, and why wasn't it pointed out at the time of brexit.

I wonderr whether journalists either just are not very well informed or are they in cahoots? It was Kay Buley this morning whom I think does try to hold the government to account, I just don't think they do a very good job.

Another example of this is journalists calling Starmer a hypocrit for not resigning when investigated for having a beer during lockdown when he asked Johnson to do just that. He did no such thing, he insisted Johnson setp down because he lied to parliament.

The standard of journalism is very poor, in my opinion.
The vast majority of them should be ashamed to use the name journalist.

The country will fall for Austerity 2.0 hook, line and sinker.
The wealthy and the dishonest (often one and the same) made hay during the pandemic while thousands died and now the coffers have been plundered, we need to tighten our belts as there's no money.
No matter if they called an election tomorrow or at the end of the term, the Tory media and voter ignorance that the economy works like a household budget will ensure they get back in.

I'm wondering at what age will I morph into a racist, xenophobic, thick as pig sh*t Tory voter????

I ask because in a way I will welcome it. If you can't beat them join them and all that. I am so incredibly demoralised by the state of this country (England pretty much).

I will be amazed if there isn't an election this year or spring next year. The tories know that things are going to get worse and whilst now it's a bad time for them, next year will be worse and they know it.

They will have to balance gerrymandering against a failed brexit.
Yet another underreported fact in this country is that this government voted themselves almost 9 months longer in office the other week.

When we went to the polls in December 2019, the law at the time stated that the next general election must be held by 2 May 2024. The government abolished the Fixed Term Parliaments Act a few weeks ago but, instead of honouring the original latest date for the next election, used their parliamentary majority to alter the position to one where Parliament must now dissolve 5 years after the date of the last election.

That means that, potentially, the next election campaign wouldn’t begin until December 2024, with the date for the election being towards the end of January 2025. That means they’ve potentially got almost 3 years from now to ride things out, safe in the knowledge that their majority will protect them from any confidence motions before then.

I’m pretty certain that they’ll string it out right to the bitter end, hoping that things will improve or something will turn up. Johnson appears to be lucky enough that something probably would.

This will cheer you moaning lefties up...

This is the Tory leader of Dartford Council cutting the ribbon at the ceremonial opening... of a FOOD BANK.

WTAF is going on in this country? Look at the faces in the picture. They should be ashamed that we have food banks anywhere in this country that the altruism of the lower classes is feeding the poor whilst our PM enjoys £27,000 of (organic) take away food and the rich "avoid" tax with bogus "Non-Dom" status and other loop holes.

We are royally fkked until we get this lot out of power and make sure they never have sole control of power in this country again.
Jesus, that is sick. It can only be a matter of times before work houses are re-opened. I'm not even joking.
The 'deserving poor' will be given food and lodging in exchange for being hired out to Amazon, Deliveroo and other corporations The inmates will have to sign a ten year contract with the workhouse company, which will of course be run by a Tory donor.

IF the tories get another term in government then I really wouldn't rule out the above scenario.

They could frame it as fixing the housing crisis.

Also I wouldn't be surprised to see capital punishment back and also some kind of national service.

Britannia unchained, do all kids really need to stay in education until 16? Perhaps we could unleash their potential at 13 and they could work in the social care sector? I wouldn't be amazed to hear Gove or Raab say something like this.

This government is now beyond parody.

The capital punishment one could be rolled out prior to the next election.

In relative terms - the difference between the top 1% and the bottom 25% is greater than in Victorian Britain.

Around 6m working age adults are on Universal Credit and an additional 2.6m on Employment Support Allowance - out of 35m? working age adults - its a lot of poor people and feels like its growing - that there are those claiming pension credit, council tax benefit, living on carers allowance, while at the other end there is growing number of billionaires and multi-millionaires including a number of MPs and their families. Because the headline unemployment figure is not high many people feel those in poverty is low too, but the large majority of the poor are not in the unemployment figures.

While in the real world the media are reporting of the millions spent in legal fees by 2 Wags after they fell out over water leaks etc

I think you may be wrong on the tories stringing things out to the bitter end.

They absolutely know that by 2024, economically things will be much worse. As I said, things aint great now, but, clearly, the polls aren't shifting enough to suggest that Labour are going to fall behind the tories. An early election avoids things getting worse and Johnson at the head of another scandal, he simply can't help himself.

With gerrymandering coming next year, they may want to wait until then, but may fear loosing more ground than moving constituency borders will gain them.

If they do go to the end, they then have no control over selecting a , relatively, better time to call an election.

Brexit will bite, the cost of living crisis will escalate, Johnson will continually be handed a new one in PMQ's, there is no plan for next winter to contain an escalation in covid. Johnsons nuclear plan looks like it has hit the buffers, levelling up has failed. The list goes on.

they had money to bail out business with furlough, and bouneback loans, but individuals dont count. Covid exposed the lie which is austerity
Don't forget the One Billion pound pay off to the DUP, made by Theresa May, after her famous "there's no magic money tree". Utter scum🤬

I don't think it's something you age into to be honest. As I get older I'm moving further left not right.

That is F***ing grim

It turns out that after the triumph of opening a new food bank the Tories of Dartford put on a nice buffet to tuck into...
