Military told not allowed to use blue lights on ambulance cover

I remember back to my early RN days when we were seconded from ships to cover the Fireman’s strike. Because we had fairly intensive firefighting training we were sent to crew the old green goddess fire tenders. I remember having a great time especially with the local ladies, who thought we were the bees knees, but funnily enough I can’t remember for the life of me, if we were allowed to use the blue lights or not. They couldn’t go that fast anyway!!
Think we had a man with a red flag walking in front of ours 😁

Has anyone seen the rationale as to why the “Indepenedent” panel is recommending q pay rise llower than inflation. I haven’t seen this but wondered if there was more information around this?
If it's anything like the panel on teacher pay I can tell you it's the very opposite of independent - it's stacked with people appointed by the Tories and they're given a range they have to stick to. The panel on teacher pay has frequently commented that they would have liked to recommend a higher uplift but were prevented from doing so by the range they were given to operate within.

The government have ignored the independent pay review bodies adbiuce 4 times this year,
Jusges, senior civil servants, barristers and another I can’t remember.

It’s a choice to accept the advice or not.

It's a choice by the government to accept the recommendation of the pay review body, yes.

But the panel itself, at least the panel on teacher pay, has to abide by the range they're given to work within. Their own stooges have been saying it's not enough.

No doubt - but they are given the parameters to work to (by the gvt)
Its not independent and its not binding - unless the government want it to be,
