What the actual ****...
Not sure how a fit and proper person test can do much more than vouch that they've never been bankrupt and have the money they say they have. It can't make personal judgements on the character of a person, or ensure they make spending decisions. Besides Ashley has only had to pass that test once, when he bought Newcastle and that was 15 years ago, he didn't need to pass anything to buy the stadium. And Ashley keeps passing the F.A.'s fit and proper persons test for club ownership ....A man that has obviously NO interest in any club or fan. Just how much he can make !!!!
Or force down the asking priceJust flexing his muscles to get a better deal to rent the ground out to them.
End of the day, they are in this situation after years of mismanagement has led them to not own their own stadium. I said it with Derby, not owning your stadium could be terminal for a club it's your key asset. Is Mike the baddie here? Why are Coventry getting sympathy and Derby got pelters?
I doubt he's doing this to be a knob? I assume that they've got a binding agreement to pay x amount and they're not as they don't want to or can't afford it?
If they have to sell to break even, it could well benefit us.
And they could have sold two players and got twenty million in most likely in the summer transfer window to put them on a really good financial footing, but chose not to do that.End of the day, they are in this situation after years of mismanagement has led them to not own their own stadium. Doug King, who is awaiting English Football League (EFL) approval to complete a deal for a 85 per cent majority stake in Coventry City, had also attempted to buy the CBS Arena.End of the day, they are in this situation after years of mismanagement has led them to not own their own stadium. you don't know what you've got till it's goneI miss the Ashley-era up at the Sports Direct Arena.
Well my point was that it's years of mismanagement, rather than the developments of the last few weeks.Doug King, who is awaiting English Football League (EFL) approval to complete a deal for a 85 per cent majority stake in Coventry City, had also attempted to buy the CBS Arena.
However, a court ruled that King’s UK£25 million bid had come too late, meaning that the Fraser Group, originally Sports Direct, was able to acquire the venue with a UK£17 million offer.
In order to secure the CBS Arena, Fraser Group purchased the stadium’s three operating companies – Coventry Limited, Arena Coventry Limited and IEC Experience Limited – in deals facilitated by FRP Advisory.
