Middlesbrough v Hearts 1968

Attention Boro historians.

I've been sorting stuff and came across my programme (sheet) for the Boro v Hearts friendly in 1968. It says kick-off was 3 o'clock on Friday 2 August which seems odd. Glasper says that the game was played on 3 August while the programme book lists it as 2 August but neither gives the kick-off time. So, was it played on the Friday or Saturday? And if it was played on the Friday what was the kick-off time? And if it was played at 3 on the Friday, why? For my part I can remember being there and sort of vaguely recall an evening game but I'm really nowhere near certain. And there's at least one misprint elsewhere on the sheet so it might just be that. Any firm info?

Looking at British News archive it was played on the Saturday 3rd. My subscription has ran out so I can't open the preview

I remember playing Hearts one year and there was hell on as they parked the away coaches near the cenotaph at Albert Park gates. I may be getting mixed up with another game completely mind.

We played them during the season around 76 or 77.
They had a load of fans in the Clive road corner. Some right hard nuts.

Yes mid seventies - I can remember them marching down Ayresome Street from the coaches with a Scottish flag and bag pipes…I don’t think it ended well!

I remember the game. I collected autographs at the time and remember that the Hearts team coach was late picking them up after the game.
