Middlesbrough Supporters Forum minutes for October 2023

The full details of the meeting were mentioned on oneBoro and from the MSF twitter account 8 days ago, I don't think there's been anything secretive about it, it's just an oversight that it hadn't been mentioned on here.

I see the term of the chair has been extended from 12 months to 24 months. Is that change retroactive, as I think the current chair has been in post for something like 18 months now without a vote?
There is going to be a vote clay - it was important to update the constitution first and then there will be an election and that is imminent.
By the way I should make quite clear that it was not the present chair that asked for the extension of the post from 12 months to 24 months.
I think everyone had totally forgotten about the constitution and how out of date it had become. And of course there was covid and in some ways things are still getting back to normality aren't they?

Rob, what has been removed from the previous constitution?

First brush I can see that moving the meetings to every 6 weeks and removing the part about being elected to the forum?

It is more changes than removal. The old constitution was well put together by experienced old hands Chris Joseph and founder of the supporters club Peter Hodgson RIP.
The constitution now talks about founder members and says who are presently members, or rather from which groups they are drawn.
Notice there will now be a Treasurer combined with Secretary and also a Vice Chair position.
Yes every 6 weeks meetings - some things had changed through time and so needed amending.

Actually I need to look at it all again to work out why it still says Chris Joseph and Peter Hodgson at the end. It was the first time I worked out how to change this part of the website - I might not have got it all right.
