Middlesbrough Supporters Forum minutes for October 2023

Middlesbrough Supporters Minutes October 2023

Not sure if the minutes have been posted from the October meeting, but I have found them online.

Apologies if the same have been posted previously.

I wanted to attend this meeting to make my representations as this whole forum needs to represent the fans.
Membership Scheme

MFC
confirmed the new membership scheme will be launched within the next International Break.

MFC advised that the membership scheme should be in place to purchase for the Birmingham City game (21st October)

With the season already being underway, the price will be reduced from £20 to £15 to account for the dates of the launch I.e., the games already played. (From research the average price of these types of schemes for championship clubs is around £20)

There will be two options – a digital membership and a physical ticket. Those supporters that opt into digital ticketing will get a greater discount than those that opt for paper tickets. If you opt in for digital, you will get a £1 discount and no booking fee. If you opt for paper, you will only get £1 discount.

If supporters opt for mobile version – they will save £2.50. Once supporters have attended seven games, they will have got their initial £15 back. There will also be an appropriate amount of priority points allocated to a membership.

Big push on the digital ticketing..

Cutting it a bit fine to launch the membership scheme in time for Birmingham. Unless I’ve completely missed something?

Digital Ticketing

MFC
advised that they plan to move forward with the next phase of the digital ticketing roll out for the Birmingham fixture (21st Oct).

The proposal is to ring fence certain turnstiles / blocks in the North stand. (West side).

Supporters that fall into this category will be contacted by MFC. If MFC doesn’t contact you, then you are not included and should continue as normal.

MFC advised that they have had no issues with digital ticketing reported over the last few games and that ticket forwarding is still on the agenda to get resolved.

The next phase of the roll out 👀

Question what are the phases and when will it be complete? I am currently opting out of digital ticketing, how long will this be an option for?

Also noted the disabled supporters representative was missing again.

We really need to elect members of this forum and for the meetings to be streamed.

The last meeting was by zoom. Will the next person be in person?

Out of interest why do memberships not pay a booking fee but season card holders do when booking extra tickets or away tickets? Was same for Boro Pride. If I bought a membership account would I avoid booking fees for away games as a season card holder? Would be worth it with the amount of games I go to😄

Leaving it late to roll out the membership scheme intime for the Brum game aren't they?

Sure the boro pride card scheme wasnt £15-20?

It is normal 11th hour practice, Bob the weatherman from Look North will be driving around the town with a mega phone whilst announcing it tomorrow at 4pm whilst reading the shipping forecast.

I have can’t recall them being posted on fmttm or for questions for the meeting being requested. I might be wrong, if someone can hoof the post then I will stop contributing to this post.

Nothing on the website, it is Thursday tomorrow so plenty of time before Saturday to get sorted 🤣

I put the minutes on the supporters page last week. To be honest I have been snowed under running a festival and a fanzine - am glad someone has found them. Last meeting wasn't really a full meeting - but I put two sets of minutes up together. Hopefully I can stick the agenda up beforehand to. The last website guy left. So I can do it again..

Things should be a lot quicker now. The whole process from the club and everyone else approving the minutes and now I have the log in details I can just nudge them on to the site.
If you look also the Constitution has been changed and updated.

It feels like this meeting was not advertised or was done in secret.

I thought the meetings going forward were in person?

If this one took place on 2/10/23, the next one must be in 4 weeks time(as outlined in the constitution). How do you make representations and get items on the next agenda?

Ok, I must have missed the post. When is the next meeting?

Owen Swift has been deputising for Disabled supporters. He was actually wearing two hats at that meeting as he was speaking remotely from a box at the Riverside before also speaking at a Boro Supporters 2020 night he was co-hosting. We hope Owen will be able to attend last week as he has not been at all well.

I see the term of the chair has been extended from 12 months to 24 months. Is that change retroactive, as I think the current chair has been in post for something like 18 months now without a vote?
