Middlesbrough could make a move for free agent Lee Peltier, who worked under Neil Warnock at Cardiff City.

Solid right back. Sure he’s filled in at left back many times too so a decent versatile option.
 
Would be happy with that but it seems they are using a story from the gazette which suggested we might go for him as he worked with NW at Cardiff, doesnt look to be any solid link
 
Deffo too old. In a years time when Warnock leaves a new man would probably replace him. He is same age as Friend isn't he and many on here think he is too old and past it.
 
I think Warnock sees Spence as a right mid. Also think he might leave. Peltier will probably be brought in as cover for Dijksteel, I think Warnock likes Dijksteel. Fact Peltier can cover LB aswell makes him a cheap sensible signing.
 
Agree Centre back and Left backs are needed though. We need to sign a specialist left back who will start more often than not
 
Fringe player - goes against what Warnock said he is looking for right now, strength down the spine
 
There are probably plenty of free agents like him floating about right now who might take on less of a wage than normal.

Tbf we've just got rid of a few of them too. Shotton, Clayton et al.

I agree with the age bit, but it might be a short term thing.

Bit worried about Spence as a full back as he doesnt seem to get near to close the ball down at crosses imho and has a way to go with his defending. Hes not bad playing on the wing but I hope he doesnt flog him.
 
I would have had a close look at Luke Garbutt, released by Everton had last season at Ipswich. From Harrogate, talking to the Mackems. 28 years old I believe, Ipswich fans were really impressed with him

He is a good player I like him but I do think top of league 1 is probably his level.
