Middlesbrough: Club fined £10,000 after players 'failed to conduct themselves'

This may seem like a naive thing to say but did or does the referee involved receive any further training or performance review of some kind? Is his match report available to read online anywhere? And is the FA report outlining what happened available anywhere?

In terms of the performance review each game is assessed. To be fair i don't think there should be an availability online of any assessment as it would totally undermine referees. I do think however that there needs to be some acknowledgment of when big mistakes are made and I think clubs and players would be accepting of that and move on.

I may be completely mis-guided here Viv but I read once that if a Manager gives a ref a poor mark it's actually the club who has to explain its reasoning for doing so!

Sounds about right really. I do remember hearing a journalist say on a football podcast a while back that they'd read the referee's match report and then the following FA findings on a falling out due to a red card he'd issued. They said it was available online but I've tried a few times to find these match reports but never been able to. Maybe you have to request them, or maybe you have to be accredited. I just think it would be interesting to read their views really, though obviously there are people who would jump all over them.
