Middlesbrough and England

The good old days. A remarkable gap of 18 years then from Alan Peacock through to the next England player David Armstrong

The Hardwick photo is brilliant. You can't always tell a book by it's cover of course but maybe you could with Hardwick, just looks a class act doesn't he? Effortless cool, bit of Errol Flynn about him.
It's also got a bit of the old Gazette 'Spot the ball' feel about it, although in this case it's 'Spot the penny". Ah, the good old days when they really tossed the penny, none of this flicking it up a few feet. George looks like he's wondering if it's ever coming back down.

The timing of the shot is perfect isn't it? I'd have that photo on my wall.

Something about Boro and suave, classy left backs clearly. Hardwick, Queudrue, Friend, erm Mad Dog Pogatetz.......

Could lay partial claim to cooper and ripley too , who both played for england with other clubs.
