Middlesbrough’s Chicken Balti Pies

Just got a favourable mention on BBC Sports App coverage of Blackburn v Wigan.

The game is hardly a cracker, not unlike the press food at Ewood Park tonight.
At the DW Stadium you get a pie (what else would you get in Wigan) with Middlesbrough's chicken balti pie leading my food charts so far this season.
It's a sandwich at Blackburn tonight, on the other hand. Don't get me wrong, we're in a privileged position with our jobs, but a pie wouldn't go amiss on a chilly Lancashire night.

Can't say I've had one for a few years. They must have improved then, because I was very disappointed the last time. There is a lovely curry smell that drifts over the North Stand on a match day.

Some years back I had to change my seat near an exit because I was getting indigestion from the fumes. 🤣 🤣 🤣

Usual routine when I was a ST holder .... 2 pints in the Navigation with a couple of corned beef sarnies and a Balti pie and Bovril when I get to the stadiun ..... alas been over here in Thailand fro 4 years so only do this the odd time I am back in the UK

I also burnt the roof of my mouth with the molten lava that was the Bali sauce that was encased in a thick hard and over cooked pastry casing.

If it award winning then the competition isn’t great.

I have to admit that pork pies are smuggled in to the matches these days, but only the finest, handmade from some of the better butchers around.
