Mick Lynch

He’ll be a happy man today

As he has them over a barrel now

I’m pretty sure that the Tories do not want Lynch to get much more airtime, if they can avoid it. Apparently he’s emboldened and empowered other unions and their members.

Edit : I’ve also heard a very interesting whisper that despite Schapps public hardline, that Network Rail were actually getting closer to the very reasonable demands of the RMT, before this chaos.

He is right that ordinary employees have not caused the high inflation in 2022 and he could actually have been more cutting in the effect of dividends rising at rates certainly above inflation for many years that have had more effect on pushing up inflation. Also Governments much increased net spending and in some cases wasting money (Test and Trace Apps etc) has pushed money into the economy and you can see it being spent on more expensive housing, cars and holidays etc.

However if wage increases of say 9% were given now, that would contribute to the inflation of 2023 as we saw from around mid 1975 to 1980 when it was no longer commodity inflation (oil shock of the winter of 1973/4), but an expectation of inflation was built into all pricing/wage decisions.

There is a fight between capital and labour - capital (in general) has been winning for the last 42 years. Now it more balanced with employers finding it it hard to find staff and no longer as easy to shift production to China/India etc.

They're running scared of Mick.

There'll be less and less seen and heard from him in the msm.

They can't have him coming on the tv and radio and telling the truth.
Can i just ask, why is everyone acting as if they know this guy lol I mean he seems pretty good at is job but the love in is a bit sickly, good luck to him and the guys he represents mind.

Because he speaks and presents himself the way any of us would. A working-class fella standing up for the right things, pointing the finger where it needs to be pointed, answers questions directly and honestly but above all, he isn’t a posh Etonian Tory ****.

Because it’s refreshing watching somebody in the media actually refusing to allow presenters and politicians to get away with stating misinformation or downright lies, and calling them out for doing so.
His calm, factual, correcting responses are delivered in an easy to understand, short and clear way and many people have probably been frustratingly screaming those same things at their telly for years, while presenters or guests just sit in silence and refuse to call out politicians for their lying, or the media for pushing false narratives.
He’s a breath of fresh air that is giving the working class a voice again, not just those workers that he represents.

as it happens i do know him.

i went to a Boro match with him once, away at Brentford, Pulis was our manager, st pats day 1-1 Traore scored for boro - boro tickets were all sold out, but he had a spare in the brentford side stand, not far from the dug-outs and he asked me if i wanted it.

after the game we were in the pub on the corner (the one along from the away end) went in the back room were the pool table is, and had a couple of beers, talking to boro fans, i knew a couple - big football fan is Mick Lynch, Chelsea is his team, but he goes to watch Brentford mainly as his Boy (whose ticket i got) ) supports them and his girl played for the Brentford womens junior team.

he also knows his music and was at a lot of the very early punk & new wave gigs in london - it was around music/gigs that we first met.

So he's pretty sound guy by the sounds of it, he certainly comes across that way. Listen I like what I see, I just found it a bit odd that there was this massive love fest. Its great to watch everyone squirm against it isn't it?!

Question: Is Boris a Doyle?

Politicians: ‘Err well you know, I think we have to look at the different contributing factors, the economy is struggling and we’ve experienced inflation but we’re putting £356 pounds back into peoples bank accounts. The Prime Minister has admitted he’s got things wrong but he’s also got a lot of things right. Including what we’re doing now blah blah blahhhhh’

Mick Lynch: ‘Yes.’

So you’ve said 3 times that he seems sound and he’s fighting the right battle and it’s great to watch everyone squirm

But you struggle to see the love in

Interesting

Gaz, I dont understand grown men hero worshiping a bloke who is doing his job, albeit a good one. I dont get why people refer to him as if they know him, its just a passing comment. It seems to have disgruntled you and perhaps I should have just kept it to myself lol

Disgruntled me, not all. Like I said I find it interesting

Just on your more recent post though I’d say he’s going over and above of what is expected in his job

Do you struggle to understand why the whole of boro supporters worship Juninho, after all he was just doing his job

He is very good indeed, he talks very fluently, if I had a union at work I'd certainly want him on my side! He is just doing his job very well though I would have thought.
