Defeat against Ipswich at the weekend. How do you reflect on that one?

It was a tough game. I think we were just a little bit off really, against a good team, [against] which you get punished and it becomes a little more difficult. That was kind of it really. Its showed their consistency, in terms of their team over a long period of time. Its not easy when your players are coming in, chopping and changing, creating new partnerships [and] new connections. That`s not on the quality of the lads who are coming into the team at all, its just more of, its not easy to come in when there`s chopping and changing going on. Probably effected us a little bit: not down to individuals [but] more of a collective. That`s how it is at the moment. Its fine. Its no problem. We`ll make the best of it and the great thing about it is there`s games coming thick and fast, that we can always do better in.

Have you managed to escape any fresh injuries? Its one of the main concerns at the minute is`nt it?

Yes. We seem to. We seem to [smile]. I never like getting too carried away at the moment. As it happens, there`s always been something round the corner. Certainly, as we stand, we are not too bad. Obviously we`ve got Izzy and Anf coming back from suspension to thicken the group up.

Latte Lath. Is that going to take a tactical tweak between you and the players?

Just natural really. I don’t think its a tactical thing. Its playing to each others strengths in certain situations. Manny [Latte Lath] last three or four games he`s looked sharp, looked threatening, he`s making them runs. It develops over time. We cant forget the change, even for him coming from a different league. Change of clubs. Change of country [Looks interviewer straight in the eye]. You know, he`s happy, he`s settled, he`s looking sharp, so we need to make the best of that.

Main issues with the current run of form and getting it back to what it was over a few weeks ago?

No. Its fine margins to be honest. Some of the times we`ve won games, we`ve played worse than when [we] have`nt won games……….That`s just football you know and consistency in terms of the level of performance. [If] we can get the consistency there, that`s what`s going to give us the best chance. I think we`ve been pretty consistent throughout really. I think its been `moments` and lapses really that`s cost us at certain times. Again, even Saturday, there was pretty much two shots on target and we find ourselves two-nil down at that stage so…….its something we need to put right. We keep talking about it: we`re defending our goal pretty well in general. But, in terms of lengths of time and areas and shots that we face….we definitely got to do something about it! [Spoken very assertively]. Consistency is key and the magic ingredient that we are striving for.

I read somewhere we are better off in places and points than we were this time last year. Still a long old way to go?

Christmas is not here yet….like you said, we are three points better off than last year, three points off the play-offs. Its a marathon-and-a-half to go yet. I think its easy to get kind of tunnel-vision and narrow-minded a little bit. Each disappointment seems a huge one. Over the course of the season, staying in there, putting a run together, building our performances and being around it for as long as you can and come the end of the season it takes its shape, so….[there`s] a long way to go yet. We want to get back to winning, we want to get back to playing really well and….I`m sure we`ll do that over a period of time and hopefully sometime soon.

Expected threat from Hull?

They`re a really good team. We played them towards the end of [last] season and they gave us a really good game. They`ve recruited really well, you can see what they`re trying to do and Liam [Rosenior] is a really good coach. You can see they`re a good team: similar to us in some ways….in how they play. Similar to a little bit of the [in]consistency [smile] in terms of the results and what they`re capable of on a good day. Similar to us...we`ve showed we can beat any team in the league and they`re probably something similar. That`s again, consistency is the big value really….and if we can do that throughout the game as well, not just game-to-game...if we can do that throughout the 90 minutes, then we give ourselves the best chance.

Liam Rosenior another young coach. Are you going to get in touch with your old mate Wayne Rooney to get the inside of what to expect from him?

Na. Na. I think in terms of Hull actually, over a period of time, they`re really committed to play a certain way and a credit to Liam for that. Its really clear in terms of his principles, how he wants the boys to play. I`m not saying we know exactly what he`s going to do, because there`s tweaks and he`s clever tactically how he goes about the game. But I think its clear in terms of what the style of game its gonna be. So we look forward to preparing for that

Finally. Any good news of bodies returning for Hull?

Not really, in terms of freshness, I think its `as we are`. Which is fine. I think the team we had on the pitch on Saturday was a good team. A few little tweaks and changes….like I said, makes it a bit difficult in terms of their wave-lengths and new partnerships. [But] as a team, as a group of individuals, quality wise, we`ve got enough to win any game, so we look forward to that
