Seems to be tonight’s scapegoat. He’s a young lad making the step up into men’s football and yes he wasn’t great tonight.

But he wasn’t the reason we lost.

There’s been plenty of these performances under Carrick’s tenure, where we’ve struggled to break down sides who sit in. Especially at home.

Lay off him, get behind him and the lads. We’re going to need it.

He just hasn’t found his feet yet.

He didn’t take his chance tonight, but there needs to be other chances.

He has come with a pedigree and we saw something in him.

Far from the scapegoat. Just criticism. It's deserved criticism too as he was shocking, there's also a constructive element too because lots seem in agreement he needs to go away and get some mens football under his belt and come back and prove he's the player we all hoped for.

Howson and others deserve as much criticism though. Jonny was shocking tonight and really if we can get away with it shouldn't be starting for us. We need Hackney back.

I don’t think there’s a single player in our club who hasn’t been poor at one point or another. Start of this season I was criticising Azaz pretty heavily, I was wrong.

Players need time. I’ve seen bits of him, especially against Watford, that suggests there’s a player in there. He’ll come good.

It's ridiculous.

Came on 20 minutes in - definitely tried to get involved. Nothing came off against a team that was always doubled up.

His career will not live or die tonight like some fans seem to think
No one thinks that, but I think a 70 minute performance where he had the ball at his feet a hell of a lot is a fair sample size to judge him on. He did nothing with it all night.

He needs to go out and play.

I get the criticism, but his name is popping up more than most. I find that a bit ridiculous considering there were plenty of players on that pitch who didn’t cover themselves in glory and he was on for less time than most of them.

He was on for a good chunk though to be fair. It's probably the most minutes he's played in a game this season, even more than the Watford game. So I think he is fair to be judged on, I wasn't expecting a flawless performance from him as he's not played much but when you get your chance you've got to show something and sadly he did b***r all, all night. He had chances too because he had the ball quite a lot

The new Azaz in terms of becoming our new scapegoat. Let’s hope he’s just as poor as Finn.

Had some nice touches, not everything came off but what a turgid game to get involved in. He WILL come good with more minutes.

Sol Brynn kicked it out of play on 92 minutes, let’s hang, draw and quarter him too.

To me Hamilton doesn't look like he is playing his natural game? He is playing alot of safe passes and not getting on the ball in dangerous areas and trying to effect the game..this could be a confidence issue? Or just a young player who is not sure what's expected of him...one game he will be really good and he will be up and running..we have to be patient, it's frustrating when we are trying to get promoted and he is below par.
Encourage young players...we all have seen so many go on to great things from very poor beginnings.

More really about the manager and club of where we want to be than the player.

Out of his depth and not really good enough yet.

Not helped by the total imbalance on the left and didn't help doak knowing we only had one side to play down.

We need some good players in Jan to reinforce the squad, without azaz we look out of ideas. To reliant on doak.

"No one thinks that...

But I have decided he is not this level on those 70 minutes"

He was good away against Watford - that did not make me think he should be starting.

One game, coming on against a team that did a great job doubling up with their deep midfielders.

From what I've seen no I wouldn't be starting him for us right now or even bringing him on, but with a good loan I would hope he could come back and impact the squad.

This isn't his first game. He's had a few opportunities. Even Silvera made more of an impact for Boro and he can't even get a game for Portsmouth.

I'm not saying he needs to be sold, just we need better options if we are serious about going up.
