MFC Official. Match Preview v Luton. Vid[26 m:11s] OFFICIAL MATCH THREAD + TEAM SHEET +

First half was dire, second half was all about that penalty but really stressful at the end - I need a beer

Great win👍

Decent side Luton. I'd say as good as we've played.

Fry / Mcnair sensational at CB👍

No chance that sending off won't get overturned. It was a joke as he had his back to it.

Britt f*cking woeful. How many free kicks did he give away jumping into people.

If it's not over
It was poor for the most part but fair play for fighting for it. Think we will appeal the red and should have a case tbf
If it was definitely hand ball (and I'm still not sure) I don't think it will be overturned because he has denied the shot on goal

Get in. Fought like honey badgers at the end. What a save from Bettinelli after looking like an absolute liability the rest of the game. Morsy mom after a battling performance and the 2nd best save of the game. Good harassment of the ref to get the goal disallowed. The linesman will be on Warnock's Christmas card list.

What is the new law?

It's not technically "new" as it has been in force across Europe last season, but the Premier League is now taking a more strict approach. So that means a player will be penalised for handball if:

  • The hand/arm is clearly away from the body and outside the "body line".
  • The player clearly leans into the path of the ball.
  • The ball travels some distance.
  • The ball touches a hand/arm that is clearly raised above the shoulder.
  • The player falls and the hand/arm is extended laterally or vertically away from the body.
  • A deflection clearly makes no difference to the ball touching a hand/arm that is clearly extended away from the body and/or above the shoulder.
  • Immediately after touching the ball with the arm, even accidentally, the player scores a goal or creates a goal-scoring opportunity.

Definite penalty but at most a yellow he just throws himself in front of the shot and yes it hits his arm but his arm is by his side even though it stops the ball going in. Hopefully overturned on appeal.

Out of the three "double kicks" in over fifty years watching football that is the clearest I've seen. Zenden - could see it on the replay, Tav still can't see it after numerous replay, they could use that one in Referee School as THIS IS WHAT A DOUBLE KICK LOOKS LIKE.

That's such a good win, hard fought, battling win, great stuff, what a squad of fighters we now have, great to be a fan of this club.
C'mon Boro
