I don’t think it makes a difference either way, international football has so many variables. Look at Haaland, he will likely be one of the best strikers in history yet probably won’t even play at a World Cup/euros but it doesn’t make him less of a player

Is he going to win 5+ champions leagues whilst currently playing for a club that’s never won it?
Even if he plays to his mid 30s he would need to score about 40 goals every season just to match his goals. That’s not going to happen.
Think you are slightly exaggerating how good Haaland actually is. By his age Messi had just won the treble and his first Ballon D’or. Haaland isn’t on that level yet.
Without looking at the stats, Mbappe who is a similar age will surely have scored far more and won significantly more?
