Slaven away to Coventry 88/89, a seven goal thriller, 3-4 is one of my favourites. David Speedie also grabbed three for the sky blues.

Slaven vs Blackpool 1986 - FA Cup 1st Round. Revenge for them ending our unbeaten start to the season. 2 cool as you like 1 on 1s with the keeper at the Holgate End

I'm not having friendly matches count. So that Britt hat-trick is irrelevant for me.

Think Emnes and Ricard both have cup hat-tricks to their name in the Riverside era?

The John O'Rourke one sent the AP crowd absolutely crazy. 54 years ago and I can remember that game like it was yesterday. One of my greatest memories with my late Dad. Walking back home after the game and we were both so excited and pumped up. My first promotion following the mighty Boro
( making me tearful just typing about it).

What is memorable about britt's exactly?

The last hat-trick in Boro colours was scored by Britt Assombalonga in a friendly fixture before the start of this season.

That doesnt make it memorable!

Unless ive missed it stuart ripley got a hattrick vs sheffield utd . 6-0 =omp i think. I was there. Bernie ended a long run without a goal and i think chris wilder played that day.

Marvellous Marvin Emnes got one at Walsall in the Carling Cup on the first night of UK city riots in 2011. He was subbed around the hour mark, then had to go chasing after the ref for the ball on full-time.

Was it the ball, though. There's so many balls used in a game these days that when you see some Premier League player being interviewed holding a ball after scoring a hat-trick, there's no guarantee they have even kicked it during the game, let alone scored with it.
