Matt Crooks signs for Hull

Not sure if anyone posted it yet but Crooks has signed for Hull. Will hate to see him play against us, always rated him at the Boro. Good luck to him.

Good championship player.

Think he would function best as 1 one of the three in a flat midfield 3. Not a 10, but not really one of the 2 in a 4231.

A team not playing 4231 could make good use of Tree

He had a good knack of making an impact in the opposition's box.

His contract is for 2.5 years - I can't see us giving a 2.5 contract to a 30 year old who was clearly starting to show his age last season in Championship games. Well done to Matty Crooks agent.

Our model is for most of our deals to be for players under 25 who we can develop and sell on at a profit. Obviously there can be a couple of deals for older players particularly in non attacking roles. Howson and Ayling were two examples this summer. The Hull side we played seemed on the young side so a bit more experience may help them.
