Matt Clarke!

Was my MOTM today, slotted seamlessly into the back line, thought Paddy was great at RCB as well, think Fry and Dijksteel have a fight on their hands getting into the team now, which is a good thing, keeps everyone needing to keep on top of their game, good healthy competition is just what we need 👍
Totally agree - best player on the pitch for me 👍

Not sure ?

Well the talk of fry potentially leaving for decent money would make no sense when any buying club could of had Clark for peanuts
Ah, I get your point now, I thought you were referring to the fact we git him at a knock down fee due to him being in his final year at Brighton.

I think Fry has a huge amount of talent, but I also would like to see him show more leadership and aggression, plus he picks up a few injuries too.

Was a beast today. I'd imagine watching from the outside it'd be easy to have mistaken him for someone who's been in our first team for a while. He seemed to fully get the system and gelled very well with the team.

I was trying to think who he reminded me of. Then I realised. Welcome to Boro… Matt “Tyson Fury” Clarke. A Man Moutain with a silky touch. That move with Giles for the second goal was class. This lad will be a Legend. (y)
I thought we had signed Conan the Barbarian! Looks like he takes no prisoners.
Skilful as well, linked up well with Giles on the left.

Sounded like he has been potent lined up for a while. He said things had been hanging for weeks on his interview on Tees. Glad we pulled the trigger after todays show.
That's frustrating if it's true, maybe his addition a lot earlier would have us a lot further up the table at this moment.

Very impressive debut. Can obviously play but I really liked that we might have addressed a problem we’ve had this season - occasionally our back line have been bullied but now we have someone who will do the bullying, and I really like that.

Agree with everyone else, super debut and against the perfect team who mistakenly thought they could come and play an expansive game against our formation in our own backyard
Not going to happen.
On another day we’d of spanked them for 5 or 6.

Reality check though, our MASSIVE nemesis is teams who sit off us and soak up any possession we have and when they win it back they hit it behind our Wing backs and pour forwards in front of their own fans.

Go a goal up and we’ve been found wanting.
Watford and Sunderland will do exactly that so big tests once again which we failed at QPR, Stoke and reading alongside numerous other away games last term.
This is where wilder couldn’t or wouldn’t alter the team shape to counter another manager doing a number on us.

He's got to be 'some player' if he's been player of the season in 4 of his last 5. That's also at diffent clubs and some on loan (some loans don't overly care).

It seems like a no brainer. The scouting is almost done for you. The fact he's left footed and champo experienced means I'm surprised we never moved earlier. Especially at the price. He was entering his final year so probably have been 2-3 mil more had it not been for that.

A WBA podcaster said on the Boro one that they wanted to sign him on a perm. Yet simply couldn't afford him due to owners taking money out of the club and skirting close to FFP.
