Matt Clarke BBC Tees interview

There seem to be a few babies being born on Teesside with our current crop of players. One happy family!

He was actually at the Special Children's Xmas Party last year as well - and shamefully I could not place who he was initially.
I was struck by just how focused he was when we were interviewing him. A quiet, almost steely determination. But definitely like Carrick he won't be getting too high or too low from matches or possible set backs. It sounds as if Carrick will be so mindful of nurturing him back.
Clarke said those final appearances from Boro were the worst of his career. Remember he enjoyed a superb debut then obviously the injury started to really bite and he could no longer do himself justice and eventually had to be taken out of the firing line. After every other avenue was exhausted he had (expensive) back surgery. And then it was a slow road back for him but all the while he would have been aware of how poorly he had played in those final games and I am sure has been driven to try and show the real Matt Clarke, from his debut.
