I assume this is a spin off of 'big match' interesting watching Oldham play on grass. It wasnt until the mid 80s them and Preston joined the plastic pitch revolution.

I wasnt aware it was actually QPR who were the first team and were banned from playing UEFA Cup matches at Loftus Road .. everyone remembers Luton Town's

If QPR were the 1st to use artificial grass then Bobby Thomson scored the 1st FAC goal on 'false' grass when he put the mighty Boro one nil up in an 1982 FAC tie at Loftus road, QPR equalised & unfortunately, went on to win the replay
